Classroom Information

Thursday, October 4, 2018

It is hard to believe that the month of October is already upon us.  The children seem to be getting into the routine of kindergarten and are enjoying forming new friendships. It has been fun getting to know each and every one of them.

Thank you to everyone who attended Parent Information Night.  It was great to meet parents I hadn’t met and to share with you a typical day in kindergarten. Thank you also for all of the supplies that you purchased at the beginning of the school year.

We are moving along with the rigorous kindergarten curriculum. Please see the attached home-school connections from our Literacy and Math programs.

We had our Choose To Be Nice kick-off assembly and introduced the school to the Nine Nice Mice and our community video.  The pledge banner made its way around the school and will soon be hanging in our school hallway. After making the pledge and signing the banner, all students received a CTBN bracelet.  We encourage families to find a safe place for the bracelet so that the children can wear them throughout the year.

September’s Value of the Month was Respect. Ryan helped us learn about Respect! In Kindergarten, we discussed what respect means and what respect looks like and sounds like.

This week we started our Foss science unit on Trees and Weather.  We adopted a tree that we will be observing throughout the seasons.

I look forward to a wonderful year with you and your child.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

I hope you all enjoy the long holiday weekend. Don't forget to take in some of the beautiful scenery that we are so fortunate to have here in New England!
