Classroom Volunteers  If you plan on volunteering in the classroom this year you must fill out a CORI form prior to coming in to the classroom.  Forms can be filled out in the main office.  A driver's license must be presented when filling out the form.  I plan on starting volunteers in late October or early November.

It was so nice to see so many of you at Parent Information Night.  I hope you found the night informative and had many of your questions or concerns answered.  Within the next few days I will be sending out a Google Doc for you to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences.  The dates for our conferences are Thursday, November 13th and Tuesday, November 18th.  Conferences are twenty minutes long and begin at 12:30.  Full day kindergartners will have a half day of school on conference days.  If you have not yet sent back the "Your the Expert" form that was given out on PIN night please send that in at your earliest convenience.  I find them very informative and feel they provide an opportunity for you to let me know of any concerns you may have.

The children are adjusting nicely to the schedule, rules, and routines of kindergarten.  I did introduce the class to the behavior chart that I shared with you on PIN night. I am happy to report that they are very motivated to move up the chart.

***Reminder***   There will be no school this Thursday, September 25th. (Rosh Hashanah)

The children are settling in nicely to their new routine of kindergarten.  Today we had a whole school fire drill and I was truly amazed at how quietly, safely and cooperatively every student in my class filed out of the building.  We read the story The Little Engine That Could and talked about how important it is to try, even when you think you can't do something.  Please be sure to check your child's backpack each night.  Today I sent home a class directory which has every students name, address, phone number and email address.  I know this is something you will find useful as the year goes on, so please keep it in a safe place.

The children had a wonderful first two days of school.  I hope they shared with you their magic play dough and the story of The Kissing Hand.

I wanted to let you know that this year we welcome two students with food allergies to room 3.  We invite your help and cooperation to help these children stay safe.  One student is allergic to eggs, sesame seed and nuts.  The other student is allergic to tree nuts.  Our room is designated as an "Allergy Aware" room and it is our hope that families choose not to send nut or egg products to school.  We thank you for your cooperation.

Welcome to Room 3

It was wonderful meeting all of you this past week.  I enjoyed getting to know the children during the screening process.  I look forward to seeing them all tomorrow.  Please remember to pack a snack for your child and a small towel or blanket for rest/quiet time. I'll be waiting for the children as they get off the bus tomorrow.  Rest up for the big day!
